This project involved working within a live educational facility in Kent.
Works included the installation of 15 foul water manholes, 181 metres of foul mains, 41 metres of surface water drainage and 4 manholes, a 223m³ attenuation tank and deep soak borehole and 155 metres of LV service mains and ducting.
GLE supplied all multi-utility gangs, plant, material and supervision to deliver the project As part of the on-boarding process, all GLE operatives and managers had to complete advanced DBS checks to ensure compliance with the site requirements.
Extensive planning had to be undertaken to re-direct key services and drainage away from the Western side of the campus ahead of a new development. A detailed resource driven works programme was made by a joint stakeholder / contractor working party to ensure critical elements of the site works were completed during term breaks and any remaining works would not overrun and be delivered without disruption to the colleges operations.
Elements of the project that were deemed not suitable to be completed out of term times were accounted for during the initial planning stage to eliminate any operational impact to the college.
A comprehensive traffic management plan was also developed, ensuring any deliveries or clearance of on site materials had a designated route to ensure separation from live areas of the site.
Works were completed safely and on-time in early 2025
