GLE are also specialists in repairing and refurbishing all types of rotating equipment. We were called to remove, repair and replace this storm pump from its position within the 12m deep well.
The removal was carried out using working breathing apparatus due to the high gas levels in the dry well, by one of our high risk confined space teams.
The pump was completely overhauled in the workshop:
- Stripped inspected and defect report
- Checked all parts for tolerances
- Removed main shaft for machining and re-sleeving of mechanical seal face
- Efficiency coat back plate and impellor to repair and prevent cavitation
- Re-assemble and reinstall under full BA conditions and commission.
